Up and Coming "Cake Queen" in Baltimore

Cynthia first started decorating cakes at the age of 15 while she attended Edmondson Westside High School in Baltimore. With falling into the trade by accident, Cynthia found her craft to be a cake artist instead of a Hair Sylist.
After graduating from school Cynthia worked at several different bakeries in baltimore since the money wasnt there for her to attend a culinary college. She learn everything that the local cake shops had to offer. After realizing that her career would go no further working for othere cake shops, Cynthia decided to start her own business. "I just got tired of the owners getting reconized and rewarded for all the hard work "I DID" Cynthia said.
Cakes by Cynthia was then born in 2005. First only making cakes for friends and family the word quickly spread that there was a new talent in Baltimore that makes faboulous edible works of art. Things started off slow at first but with hard work and sweat and LOTS of tears Cynthia was eventually able to quit her full time job at Costco and open her own shop. Now located at 6422 Frankford ave. here in Baltimore, Cynthia is hard at work making customers happy with providing them with a beautiful and delicious work of art.
Cynthia is now trying to make her way in the tv world, first she has to get her foot in the door.LOL..... She has a toe in already... LOL
Back in 2009 Cynthia was extended a invitation to participate in We Tv "Wedding Cake Wars" where she and 11 other contestants competed to see who had the Best Wedding Cake. A now friend of hers Ruth Rickey won the competition with her closest friend Janet Rosenbury.
Cynthia will have the honor of working with Ruth in a upcoming live challenge at "The Great American Cake Show" here in Maryland in May.
Now hoping that entering different competitions will open many doors for Cynthia. "I love what i do" Cynthia said. That's all I know is Cake!! I can't wait to see what i can learn next, im like a human vaccum cleaner!! Just sucking up everything there is to know about cake, even tho i still have a long way to go......
I think the ultimate job for me will be to be able to travel the country and visit various different bakeries and taste their delectable sweets...I never get tired of sweets!! Kind of what Rachel Ray used to do before she started a day time talk show.....I used to watch the show all the time and say man that sure is me...I try everything at least once.
Before that ultimate job tho, I want to get a crack at Food Network Challenge or Ultimate Cake Off.

Well you guys that is the story about me, there you have it in a nut shell...LOL
