Another Live Cake Challenge

Well me and my assistant Temeka Johnson had the opportunity to compete in yet another live Cake Challenge on February 5th, 2011 at the Garden State Cake Show. I was contacted by one of the representatives, asking me would I be interested in competing in the challenge, so you know me (for those that do!! LOL..) I was all in. I was given the theme that we had to represent in cake which it was "A Child's Dream/Wish"....sooooo I was like hmmmmmm....what to do?
           After one week of deciding, I came up with my representation of the theme of a child's wish and did "Police Officer"...I was at first all over the place as to what I wanted to...LOL....Now that I had in mind what I wanted to create, I had to inform my assistant of the idea and she loved it. Our design consisted of a kid friendly Cop Car with a huge Donut on top, then with the superhero badge standing at he top.
            Day of competition came and I was ready like Freddie..LOL..(who's Freddie you ask?? I have no idea..LOL). I arrived in New Jersey where the show took place and where I was to meet Temeka. Well me and her hooked up to go over all the logistics as to what was going to be done and how we were going to execute our design and well.
            The clock starts and it's "Game Time"...we go all in!! The cake was being put together very well, all things were going as planned....but when do you know anything to stay on track when your competing...something always go wrong!!..LOL...I will get to that later.. The judges were walking around taking a look at all 4 cakes and artists that were competing, getting a eye for to see who has what it takes to when the prize...We didnt win, but I will say we gave the winner a "Run for their money"..LOL...The judges even allowed the audience to walk the stage and take a close look at the entries, but they just werent able to talk to us...You know me and my big mouth, I started talking to them anyway...LOL... They all "LOVED" my cake and the Child's wish/ Dream that I have choosen...They just kept taking so many pictures...
              Remeber earlier when I said "something always go wrong"...well the superhero badge that I wanted to add to the top, stupid me!! He wasn't dry enough to stand alone so points were lost there.....
    Well all in all, me and my girl had a FAB time, and will compete again ANYTIME, ANYPLACE!!!!.....Maybe next time I will get to compete again on National TV!!!!
